In this episode, you’ll meet JB Gill... multi-talented British singer, dancer, television presenter, author, and farmer.
Recently announced as a contestant on the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, JB is ready to add another exciting chapter to his diverse career.
Best known as a member of the boyband JLS, JB rose to fame after the group’s success on The X Factor, leading to five number-one singles, over 10 million records sold worldwide, multiple Brit Awards, and a MOBO Award.
Growing up in Croydon and spending his early years in Antigua, JB’s musical journey began at age seven, mastering various instruments and performing in his local church choir. After giving up rugby to focus on his singing career, JB’s passion for music led him to The Centre for Young Musicians (CYM).
Beyond his music career, JB is an award-winning farmer and TV presenter. He hosts Down on the Farm (CBeebies) and On the Farm (Channel 5), and has been part of the presenting team for Songs of Praise since 2017. He also stars in his own TV show, Cooking With The Gills. Recently, JB became a published author with the middle-grade series ‘Ace and the Animal Heroes,’ with the first book released in April 2023 and the second due in April 2024.
Join us to explore JB’s incredible journey from boyband pop icon to farming star, his passion for sustainable living, and his successful transition to television presenting and author. JB shares insights on balancing multiple careers, pursuing different passions, and the importance of following your dreams.
